'Oh! Calcutta' has some of my favourite Larry Arms songs: Recovering the Opposable Thumb, Are You There, Margaret?..., Jumping the Shark, Lose Your Illusion I...
but 'The greatest Story Ever Told' feels more consistent to me.
Plus, "Good friend, how loud do you want life to shout her answers in your ear?" may be my single favourite line of theirs.

maybe... i can't promise i'll post often enough to justify the position - there's a good chance it'd be wasted on me. also, i actually kinda like the pos/neg system that non-contributors get. it's a very obvious, blunt way of knowing if you're doing ok or not. i might miss that.

I applied, but it was really just to get Jom's feedback at the end because I also don't currently have the frequency of a promoted reviewer. I am returning to writing more frequently, though.
I find the pos/neg thing to be useless because some of my worst reviews are 100% pos and some of my best get ghost-neg'd. Additionally, my reviews are usually of records that receive very little attention so voting is at like 2 a review.

I was actually a little disappointed they removed this for contribs too when i first got promoted, but i kind of came around after a while as i realized that what dimsim said is right people often pos/neg without justifying. what's really important is comments/constructive crits that people post.
i know i'm not in this conversation lol and i've never even listened to this album actually but i saw that and felt compelled to post.

i definitely take your point that people will often pos/neg without justifying, but i tend to see it as one better than people not leaving constructive criticism or pos'ing/negging .
if someone has bothered to do it either way i tend to assume something was especially good or bad, which is slightly better than a neutral non-response.
