First song was very lush. I approve.
Second song making me feel weightless and free.

haha, feel free ;-)
interludes are either super corny or strangely endearing, have not yet made up my mind
On Love Me Like You Used to and this feels like his most obviously tuneful release so far. If it keeps up, it'll be my favorite of his since the debut.

JWT! How the hell are ya?
You enjoying the new LH?
On Long Lost now and I can safely say this is shaping up to be his best since Lonesome Dreams.
Edit: These pianos ugghhh so preetttyyy
Edit #2: Holy god, Long Lost is breathtaking. Easily the best so far.

Twenty Long Years feels like a lyrical grower. Pretty song, not sweeping me off my feet but I feel like that'll pay dividends on future listens by anchoring this thing down and keeping it from getting too saccharine and AAHHHH those gorgeous guitars just started and I take it all back!

On Drops in the Lake now, sounding very contemplative and heartfelt
Loving the string presence here and on this album in general

Staying alive sowing. Just bought a house so fixing that up along with a pretty grueling job but finding enough time to stop in here a few times a week to see what new releases are out.
Haven't checked out the new record yet but plan to tonight. And I agree with the spell analogy, when I'm in the mood their music def. takes me to a different place, feels like a mix between long lost nostalgia, summer love, naivety, etc. Music you can put on when your driving at night with the windows down with nowhere specific to go, just adventure.

Agreed with that assessment JWT. Their music for me is perfect for countryside drives, esp. right around sunset. Something magical about it.
Glad to hear you're staying alive, which I'll choose to interpret as an endorsement of your overall health & well being! I bought a house a few years back and I can definitely say it's way more work than I ever expected. But worth it. Factor in a grueling job and I can see why you chose the words "stay alive", ha. Hang in there though, things always get easier the longer you do them.

slapping a preliminary 4.5 on it with the expectation that it won't wear off me and will become my new favorite LH.
