Nah, I just want the average rating to be a fair one. It doesn't matter for this because I've already listened to it, but with other albums I typically check the sputnik rating to determine whether or not I want to try it if I'm on the fence. If a bunch of people give it 1s without listening and it decreases the rating enough, I might not try it. And for all I know, that could've been my favorite album of all time.

I only heard one Agalloch album fully. I can easily say I'm being biased towards them due to that. If I were to check them out, what album would someone recommend? The Mantle is the one I listened to.

I can understand the no substance angle. It bothers me a bit too sometimes. But I can appreciate a good wank every now and again.

I love Tommy's harsh vocals on this album. It's a lot more emotional and less monotonic than on most of their previous releases. Album slays. Hatas gon' hate.

Listening to a whole btbam album is boring as fuck. But Mordecai or Selkies coming up on shuffle is fun though in my experience.

Im sure this isnt that bad. These guys do get alot more shit than they should here but thats what happens when you're as popular as they are. Everybody's got an opinion on em. They're an okay progressive metalcore band that has some interesting ideas sometimes but also completely misses the mark with others.

That's my main gripe right there. I feel these guys get way more shit than others just because they're pretty popular now. I could point the finger at so many bands that are a million times worse than these guys.

Even though I do love this band, I can't call myself a fanboy. Most people who know me in real life know I "rep" Tool and System of a Down too much. Hardly bring these guys up unless it's relevant to something.

I still don't really understand how "wank" is determined. If you're a talented guitarist, why not show off your skill as much as you want? However, it can't be nothing but solos and such.
