i see myself giving a 5 to this album, but the slow fade out ending on the 2nd track is awkward, thats like the only flaw though, and its so small i will obviate itThis Message Edited On 06.18.07

it's a bit tiring to listen to all the time though.

i see it as an album i take out once in awhile (say.... once a week), enjoying it immensely, and repeat the whole cycle.

This is an amazing album. It pars with Opeth's Still Life for me in progressive melodic death metal

Kal, you gave this a 3? I would think this would merit no lower than 3.5, even from the most critical of listeners.

Mad good album.

I agree 100 percent with Kalkal. Its interesting for about the first two tracks. After that i think they are trying to hard to fit all the musical culture stuff into every song.

I'm listening to this for the first time right now and I'm compeltely overwhelmed. The music is completely flawless. I never would've thought traditional Eastern music would tie in so well with extreme metal, but there isn't a single aspect of this band I would change. Everything from the melodic harmonies to the female chants to the piano is absolutely incredible. I give it a 4.5 now but I can easily picture myself giving this a 5 in the future.

And I think simply calling them death metal is a huge discredit to the band. One of the reasons it took me so long to discover them was because the simple label "death metal" isn't exactly revolutionary. I'm completely excited for their new album now. The concept is much more intricate than this, and they even have Steven Wilson producing it.

I think this album is one of the most cohesive thought album that has given this band the rep of its kind, and, obviously, its only kind within the genre of extreme metal that makes them have the most unique sound from other bands and, of course, this might be the only kind of band coming out of an area that plays Traditional Eastern music as their central music, i think lol

I guess this is an album that deserves to be listened to by anyone who enjoys listening to music that is just eccentric and intruiguing and, at the most part, maybe sounds silly, but anyone who looks forward to the enigma of what is music

I rate this album a 5/5 & this is one of my favorite albums for now on!!!

The first time i listened to this it didnt hit me, but i got it this time. Fantastic album. I've made lots of great purchases lately.

And i just ordered 6 albums off amazon, for 95 dollars...nice. I ordered Somewhere Far Beyond and Imaginations From the Other side by Blind Guardian, Carved in Stone and Legacy by Shadow Gallery, In the Halls of Awaiting by Insomnium, and Mirror of Madness by norther. All of these itunes and FYE dont have (well, FYE has some BG, but i've never seen any of their albums prior to NIME there) so i decided i might as well order them.
