"and marijuana > sheesha"
agreed. I mean shisha is good, nothing special though, at least from my experience. marijuana is better in every single way. I was in Tunisia once on a high school trip, and our tour guide took us to the place where we could try some. it's completely legal there, you can see people sitting in cafes with their big nargillas (dk how do you spell it), smoking shisha. it's kinda cool actually

it doesn't really get you... well... high or anything. but it's cool to hang out in a sheesha lounge with 4 or 5 friends and talk about stuffs.
and yeah, this album has nothing to do with sheesha. raj sucks.

It's just stoner metal, plain and simple, unless you want to say "Middle Eastern inspired."
|
| |
I really wish I knew how to like this
|
| |
it's not middle eastern influences, it's Southern Asian influences.
|
| |

"Sitars are used in both the middle east and southern asia, fact
as well as some of the acoustic percussive instruments Om uses throughout their discog"
It's not only the sitars. "Addis" has Hindi chants, which originates from Southern Asia. The style in which the percussive instruments (notably Tabla) are played is strictly Indian, not Middle Eastern.

Album is fucking transcendent. Drummer rules at creating a laid back mood that still jams. The cello riffs are beautiful.

the middle eastern feel has swept a few minds i see
good shit om has come up with the most intricate moments and feeling of the eastern mess
the wow to the lyrics as usual and the instruments have beautifully bonded to the feeling of rising smoke
and we walk towards more.
