We had to change our name due to legal threats from another band.
Veils is our identity so we decided to change to spelling from Veils to Vales, still pronounced the same (Just a slightly nicer meaning)

It's the fact that they had to. Many artists share their names with others, but threatening another through legal action because of it... I mean, for fucks sakes. Whoever Veils is needs to grow up.

Pretty sure if I was in a band and heard of another band using our name I'd be pretty annoyed.
HOWEVER, if said newer band becomes suddenly more popular than your band then it's probably because they are better so.. you should probably change yours. Better band should win though this is an extremely subjective choice.

I very much doubt Vales was trying to copy the other band. It was a simple coincidence. Veils should have accepted that without acting like 5 year-olds about it.
