might check jt thx...I mean this is enjoyable, but it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of depth to it. there are lots of different sound effects and some different instrumentations used but the beat and tempo hardly change at all. there are changes in the direction of the music but a lot of the time they seem aimless. seems really samey in quite a few places.
idk I'll keep listening

then again I'm basically still a noob to psych and prog so I could just be an idiot

Nah, this band doesnt really have a lot of depth to them, truth be told. they just bring sweet, spacey vibes and occasionally rock the fuck out

nothing wrong with that really
I've also never really been huge on instrumental music. I can listen to some, but I do like to hear vocals. not even necessarily meaningful lyrics either, e.g. king buzzo. although meaningful lyrics adds to it as well. but even just to hear the voice and harmonizing and whatnot there, that adds dimensions that I enjoy too
honestly I think the only "instrumental" band I've ever really dug has been Pelican

these guys should probably come with a "take with drugs" label on their albums
|

"then again I'm basically still a noob to psych and prog so I could just be an idiot"
Nah I think a lot of people find this band a bit samey, not just in terms of individual albums but their discography as a whole. I personally like their sound enough for that not to matter too much to me.
|
| |
Well, they came up with their name while tripling which kinda says something about their music...
I need to pick up one of these guys' albums, I'm thinking Become The Other... is that a good starting point?
Holy shit evilford, you singlehandedly brough this album's rating down from 4.5 to 4.4... feel ashamed.

lol sorry fans
and you know 2.5 might be a bit low I think 3 is prob more fair from me so I'm changing.
It's good. 3/5 good. there were moments of enjoyment the times I listened. I just find it slightly repetitive and all that. the effects only go so far for me I guess. damn I had high hopes for this band.
oh well I'll check Become the Other like u rec'd Jamie

Jurassic is my fav Ozric [2]

If you think THIS is repetitive and 2.5-3 worthy, then you're going to have a shitty time getting into electronic music

a lot of it reminded me of the backing band on a joe satriani song
|
| |
They incorporate alot of electronic elements in their music so they are not pure Psych/space rock honestly
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.0
maybe I'm not picking up on some of that. but realistically my ratings gotta be 3 atm
damn
|
