'It's the Ascendancy of this era of newjack rip-off bands. It sounds good when you're not really familiar with the style, but when you actually listen to everything else like it, it's just a radio-rock take on the current metalcore scene + Duran Duran choruses.'

Mappy, I can understand that it's not your cup of tea, but trying to argue that accessibility, catchiness, and derivation are universally bad is more than a little ridiculous. What exactly do you think this is 'a radio-rock take on'?

Because Win, it's just another, "hey we should force an accessible clean part in right here," album.

Death to Duran Duran core.

I don't think it's forced. Just not as common anymore. The cleans fit with their style, just not with everyone's tastes.

Andromeda is one of my favorite EP's ever. They really killed it on that. they didn't overuse the cleans like they did on this.

Guitars are better on this; architect is killer, despite all the "duran duran choruses".

Totally disagree with this. These guys definitely have their own sound. I don't hear many Metalcore bands nowadays who sound like these guys. Yea, these dudes draw heavily from BOO, Misery Signals, and other common trends within the Metal scene, but who the hell DOESN'T draw from a certain influence? Just because they have singing and some very accessible/catchy factors about their music shouldn't make them a turn off to metalheads only focused on "teh brootulz!" Seriously, I used to be the same way when it came to this stuff, man. I picked everything apart. Anything that didn't have the uber originality of Opeth and the underground unknown factor like Cynic's "Focus" wasn't my cup of tea. When it comes down to it, though, its just fun music. Its technical, it catchy, its melodic, its heavy, its ambient, and its a whole host of other things. These dudes are definitely talented and I think its crazy to try and argue that they are any less than that. Seriously, Trivium was never good or talented. These dudes are...

I liked Andromeda better at first, namely because of the title song and Isolation Bue, but I don't think they've strayed from their roots. Their first EP had less singing then Andromeda, and Andromeda less than Impulse. Their style is the same. I feel the riffs are better this time around, the production. Yea there's more singing. But there is also 10 songs as opposed to an EP. and the notion that you've already heard this style of Erra on their EP may wear out the fresh taste in your mouth. But ultimately after a few listens I started to realy enjoy this. more so than Andromeda, say for that song in particular.

It's decent too, but the cleans are really what ruins this band for me.

Like this album isn't even bad, I just hate how average it is haha.
