This might be the album that divides the fans. I remember when I got this after DEI and Chaosphere I didn't feel it very much. Three years and loads of new music later I learned to appreciate this. Sometime it switches with Catch 33 as my favorite album by them.

what is so good about meshuggah? i've listened to basically their whole discography and all i've found is that they do the same thing over and over again. every track melts into every other track

QWE, SOME RETARDS LIKE ME LIKE BANDS THAT ARE A BIT REPETITIVE, I CAN TOTALLY SEE WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM. IT COMES DOWN TO PERSONAL TASTE.

If you don't like them then alright. On a side note, DEI destroys this.

We have similar feelings on Meshuggah. I like both albums a lot.

Really you think that? Maybe they're not your cup of tea. I find their albums very different from each other, although all have this "Meshuggah" sound.

i dunno maybe it's the vocals. im a vocals nut. like i think they have huuge potential to do something really cool, but a lot of their stuff is just odd time signature based chugging followed by a solo etc. if they varied it up i think theyd be awesome. just my slant.

and yeah i liked Destroy Erase Improve more than this too.

I swear I can do the vocals no matter what album. I think that they do change it up from song to song. Of course I didn't feel that way when obZen came out at first.
