such a shame what this band has become but it was written on the wall ever since they signed to Interscope

I remember buying this just at random cos I liked the cover and heard Walking Dead Man on a compilation around the time (in 2011 I was still just getting into heavy music and was going through metalcore). That song was the only particularly decent song on it.

Ehhh...I wasn't a fan of that song, even when I found them at like age 11-12.

ppl lament their shift in style but nobody was trying to hear 80's metal anymore

the only mistake they made was hopping on this metalcore wave too late. by 2011 all the giants of the genre were washed up and ppl were moving on to like dubstep and shit lmao. if this came out in 2007 this band would've been huge

True that, shame really since there are lots of bangers on this. Honest Eyes, Ashes, That Fire, Walking Dead Men, all certified bangers

Pretty sure the vocalist sells nudes and shit now lmao, I know he used to back in like 2015

"bootleg fisher price thrash"

First album was pretty great though. This has some bangers too, but it took a while to get into it because of how different it was. That Fire is still a good song.

I was roasting but tbh the first album had no staying power beyond the novelty. Shockwave still goes hard tho

but yea the fall off for the singer was steep and fast. from headlining shows to making bad bedroom pop to selling nudes on snap. rip

I still dig Shockwave and Enterprise on the first album

Shame about the vocalist tho lol, he was a dope guitarist and could've been one of the better metalcore guitarists had they kept going

he had a good voice too. could even have done power metal. still very surprised he hasn't started another band, but I get the feeling he's outgrown metal a long time ago

Homie had a lot of power in his voice, I love it. I was always hoping to hear something about these guys making something new but it was a fruitless dream. The drummer for this band was super impressive too, I think he left to become a solo electronic act lol, but he still kept up with drumming.

He was in a music video doing like a small drum battle with Luke Holland a few years back https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vzv3Jy2jzZg

Too much too soon. Shockwave goes at least as hard as That Fire. Warriors of Time was pretty dece too.

"nobody was trying to hear 80's metal anymore"

A7x and BVB basically built careers out of ripping off '80s metal and putting a slightly modern spin on it. No reason why these guys couldn't have too. But I imagine they weren't really trying to jump on the metalcore train as much as they were just kids whose music tastes and interests changed between ages 13 and 18, which happens to everyone.

yeah I think so too. typically kids the other way around from metalcore to heavy metal lol

these guys were playing straight up retro music tho, no modern spin at all. I'm guessing Interscope had some input in their stylistic shift too

I doubt Interscope had anything to do with the stylistic shift simply because the band had tons of hype because they were actually doing a great job playing '80s metal without ripping off their idols.

The backlash they received was in part because they lost everything that made them unique even if the songs were still okay (though the lyrics were still pretty lolbad). They would have been served much better by adding some metalcore influences rather than just completely dropping everything and hopping on the metalcore bandwagon.

they really did have a lot of hype. u know u made it in mainstream heavy music when ur featured on like NHL games and shit lol

still think they were too late even in their original style. if they incorporated metalcore a la b4mv, even that band was on the way out in 2008. Scream Aim Fire was their last big album. rock music in general has died in the mainstream
