Nightwish is the best female-fronted band there is imo.

Epica is also female-fronted, but they suck.

Okay then, what other good bands have an excellent female singer and fairly heavy instrumentation?
Coheed and Cambria

I actually enjoy this album, particularly Bring Me To Life, depite being somewhat overplayed... That doesn't matter now, since they haven't played it much for a few years. Even then, I liked that song, and still enjoyed it every time it came on the radio. My Immortal also got played a lot. Okay review. This Message Edited On 09.23.06

actually, the songs that dont get the radio play are pretty good, i used to really like this, but now. i dont know. they sound a lot like Lacuna Coil, which is a good thing

Lacuna Coil is better though in every way (except maybe Karmacode). I liek Cristina Scabbia's more violent, yet haunting female voice over Amy Lee's whining, yet haunting female voice.

Good album, but all the songs are like redos from the whisper ep 2000 i believe. Oh and taking over me has been done like 3 different times. This album only contains 2 or 3 new songs. I highly recommend checking out the whisper demo. Still excellent album, but already done before and some songs are better on the demo and other eps

This band really fucking butchered Zero by Smashing Pumpkins.
I hate the singers voice like poison.

Evanescence's album '' Fallen '' is one of the best rock albums of the newage rock bands, for me. The whole album seems cool and almost all of the songs became '' hits '' and they are still on club playlists, ringtones e.t.c. The songs lyrics have poor quality, at my opinion, and by saying that I mean that they are not something new or special, having a meaning or something, just sad thoughts? something like that it seems.

Although people loved them... those lyrics / type of songs seems to be modern nowdays. Quality bands as Deep Purple or Pink Floyd or Guns & Roses are hard to be found nowdays.

Anyway, generally the album is okay to me. Good job.

Um... this band is alright. I do like Amy Lee's voice a lot, though some songs sound exactly same in this cd... she still knows how to hold a note. This was an ok album, some songs i can recall were good, but most of them i forgot... so that's not usually a good sign for me.

Personally, I think that Amy Lee’s voice is very pretty. No, what rather annoys me about Evanescence isn’t musical, it’s literary – sometimes I’ll see a spark of something, but most of the time the lyrics are so… clichéd… that it makes my heart break. Clichéd lyrics can be borne, but not at such volumes.
