I absolutely have no problem of you giving it a 5 after the first couple of spins. Writing reviews is
a really subjective thing and I dislike people who try to be as objective as possible most of the
time. All that matters is that it's a great review and... great, if a bit choppy album.

Aaaaaaand now we're waiting for someone fed up with all the hype to write a negative review.
Seriously, though, their first albums are enjoyable but pretty bland at times... And ever since I saw that Simple Math video, I knew this would be somewhat on another level. This may not be the best album of the last 5 years (haven't listened yet), but this goddamn video brought chills to my spine every time I watched it. It's just so intense...
Anyway, the 5s kinda scare me. Sometimes the things you love most at first get boring quickly... Still, it's about time to listen.
The review's nice, so are all the others for this. I'd repeat all this stuff about yours being over-hyperbolic, too early to call it a classic, etc., but I guess you're tired of it by now.

So I suppose this is pretty good, hm?
No really, I'm very curious about this, METN was excellent. Pretty huge review, overwhelmingly positive but my pos is earned as always.

Manchester Orchestra's best LP could be southern rock/indie(?)'s finest ever! The album of 2011.

yeah Aids I could definitely see that happening...
I dunno, I can't help but feel like people are even overhyping this album just because they've been waiting for so long to 5 and album from this band. Maybe it's just me but I don't understand it, the album sounds fantastic, but I don't get the whole "concept" and I definitely don't see a 5 in it, at least not yet.

Interesting how you interpreted "Simple Math". In an interview I saw with them, he (Mr.Hull) said the song actually is (for him) about an fictional story of what it would be like to have an affair and the temptation that comes with it. And how you'd have to give up in you other relationship. Anyway just though it was interesting. Here's the interview if you wan to see for yourself
