after TSC came out I followed this band everywhere. I saw them 10 times in a year, I have the whole tour documented and i went fan boy on them. I had like 12 btbam tees and even got the foam metal finger they were selling. I took pictures with all of them in every combo and freaked out on it. I rode that wave for years but no other release captured my attention like the TSC did when it came out in 03 and essentially the enthusiasm just faded.

500!

Sadly, for the The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues, it’s already too late.

Drop the first "the", methinks.

I like this. You might not. But I do. Just my opinion. Don't worry, yours is valid too!

Giving this album a 2 just doesn't make sense. This is an amazing piece

of music, with some of the most unique songwriting to be found in the entire genre of metal.

Bro, have you heard of this little thing called OPINIONS? Other people have them too, you know.

"This just seems like a ridiculous thing to say about an album that is the first part of a two part story. Did you miss that part? Seems that ideas half-realised should be the point for this part one of a two part album."

Don't see how you could possibly think that this is a good argument for justifying ideas that he feels are half-assed.

The first song is great, but it just goes downhill from there. Definitely the best review for this so far.

I'm really digging this album though. Not gonna lie I'm a sucker for great instrumentation and these guys have that in spades. Plus I'm not really bothered by jam sessions within the song, provided they at least stay somewhat in context.

I just listened to Hypersleep Dialogues today, actually. It was my first experience of the band, and even I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Hence the 4.5 lol.

This just seems like a ridiculous thing to say about an album that is the first part of a two part story. Did you miss

that part? Seems that ideas half-realised should be the point for this part one of a two part album.

Is this a joke? Just because an album's lyrical content, or indeed any aspect of any piece of art, is split between two works, it does not mean that they should be full of half-realised ideas. To begin with, I wasn't simply talking about the lyrics; I was talking about the whole package, including riffs which are just glued together without any real development. The record throws up good ideas and does nothing with them - nothing the follow up record adds will change that.

All the BTBAM haters will jump all over this review. For some reason its fun for people to spread hate on music on

this site. If you don't like something that is fine, but trying to find clever ways to justify a misguided judgment of an

album doesn't make the judgement right. Giving this album a 2 just doesn't make sense. This is an amazing piece

of music, with some of the most unique songwriting to be found in the entire genre of metal.

Man, your ego is impressive. The record doesn't meet the made-up standards I judge this type of music by. Just because it does meet the made-up standards you judge it by doesn't make you right, unless you actually believe you're the king of music.
