Well they're not really nu-metal. They've been compared to nu-metal bands, but they're basically just light metal.

I always considered them a melodic hardcore band with a metalcore approach.

I'm not really sure what to think of them. Sometimes I want to say black metal, but they're much to light for that. Metal is about as specific as I can get without questioning myself.

Amazing band nonetheless.

They are in no way shape or form black metal though.

And my wrongness could be attributed to the fact that I know little to nothing of black metal. :p

Well, I won't make you like it, but go listen to any track by Emperor and compare it to this and you will see the difference.

My internet's acting up for some reason.

Emperor was my gateway into black metal, so for you it will be a hit or miss.

i got bored of Demon Hunter after a while. i gues i was just wanting more from them, they sound like if they just step up a little bit on the musicianship i will like them again. the vocals are great though

So far the intro to Curse All You Men is pretty sweet, the vocals sound kinda like Alexi Laiho from Children Of Bodom.

@jrowa: Maybe their next album will be a step in the direction that you'll enjoy.

Ihsahn is a much better vocalist then Alexi. His range is by far greater. Curse You All Men! is a brilliant song off the band's weakest album. (Not checking the Myspace to make sure) Listen to I Am The Black Wizards.

They don't have that, they've got In The Wordless Cha(something cut off the screen), The Loss And Curse Of Reverence, and Inno a Satana.

EDIT: @jrowa: They do, they're probably the first 'heavy' band I got into, it's funny how I made the transition from Good Charlotte to Demon Hunter in just under a year. This Message Edited On 08.16.07

Smash Mouth was awesome back in the day. I think they were the last cassette tape I bought before I moved to CDs completely.

Inno A Satana. And that track is called In The Worldless Chamber.
I actually heard the original song Snap Your Fingers Snap Your neck by Prong awhile back and thought that it was rather poor in comparision to Demon Hunter's cover.
Definitely, the only real difference is the vocals and Ryan's screams are quite better. Alright review but I'm gonna do a non TBT one
