I agree with most of what people are saying about him never being able to create another Hvis Lyset Tar Oss or Filosofem, but I don't really expect him to. I'm just going to try and enjoy what he puts out and I think he's doing a good job so far.

I don't expect him to make another HLTO either, but I do expect him to make something of a bit higher quality than this and Belus.

I can see where you're coming from. I do really like this one though. The vocals have improved since Belus and I think most of the riffs are pretty damn catchy.

I think the riffs on this are pretty mediocre and the production just doesn't help them out any. It's really lacking a lot of the variation and experimentation in songwriting that makes his old stuff great. Belus had a bit more original songwriting than this, but as a whole I don't find it to be much better.

Kaimadalthas' Nedstigning was the only real standout on Belus, methinks. This has a few kickers.

I guess that's the difference in why I like this and you don't haha. I definitely liked most of the riffs.

Yeah, that'd do it. I didn't really find most of them interesting, especially for several minutes. He could get away with that on Filsofem where the riffs were cool and the production and quad-tracked guitar created that atmosphere, but here it just makes for a really boring album.

I definitely can see why you think that. I mean, they're pretty hit or miss, especially when they go on for minutes at a time like they do here.

Aye. You take a band like Drudkh and Roman Saenko's riffs, they're so good I want them to go on for minutes at a time. Here I'm just like "Next please."

The production on Belus is much better than the production found here. There's a few tracks where you can't even hear the drums.

"At least the intro this time doesn't sound like Charlie Sheen's breakfast table."
I literally lol'd

Someone appreciates the joke. Mission accomplished.

Yeah, too bad this isn't as good as Belus.

Loved this one, I for one enjoyed both Belus and this. This bit more, because it has better guitar work and Varg's singing seems to be more on point and overall this album is his best since way before he went into jail

"since way before he went into jail"
If you are implying that this (or any other burzum album) is better than Filosofem...I don't know how to break it to you, but you're quite silly.
