Ultra Beatdown is also the name for the next emmure album.

Except it isn't
|
| |
I thought it was
|
| |
No, it's Speaker of the Dead. There is a song on it called Groove Beatdown though
|

How the hell do you pronounce Flo's last name? I don't think i'm doing it right.
You have to say it like it's French...

Good review. IMO i think lyrics make or break some songs because you can hear the effort and intentions behind their words the easiest, but other than that I agree with your review completely. Pos'd
Also, and this is just me nitpicking, fifth graders don't take phonics :]

more needless bashing of dragonforce, they were a lot more enjoyable before inhuman rampage, fire and flames was a fun song but the rest of the album was boring, this album has maybe one enjoyable song.
you don't really backup you're points well enough to warrant a 1.5, considering you're arguments are similar to the other reviews, and those aren't as low
|
| |
"my point being that playing fast doesnt necessarily make you a good drummer"
Damn right. That also applies to guitar players.
|
| |
@ikarus: 1.5=very poor.
The songs are all repetetive.
The one song that is on the album is boring and formulaic.
The bass is absolutely inaudible.
The singer sounds like a dying animal.
The lyrics are stupid and juvenile.
There is no musicality whatsoever.
These points I made I believe constitute a very poor rating.

Oh, and @washboard:
Most schools don't teach phonics to fifth graders, but apparently my old grade school from way long ago thought the students were particularly "special," and it went through 6th grade, provided a student didn't get an approved pass to take a regular English class.
|
| |
@ikarus no offense but your reasoning is off. Saying that his/her points weren't enough to constitute a low rating simply because other people's ratings are a little higher? eehh
|
| |
@tkxxx7
Thanks, man. Appreciate it!

| |
@jybt:
Yeah, I'm sure almost anyone with any common sense on Earth agrees with you there! Although is their worst outing, imo. Other 3 are more around a 2.

Tyraelxy:
"Being able to play really fast IS a sign of skill, just look at Flo Mounier."
Yes it's a sign of skill but the real skill comes from the creativity in which you use that fastness as well as being able to do other things. I mean most great guitarists don't play at lightning speed all the time (which this band does) unless showcasing their speed. Imo it feels like these dudes are so stuck on themselves being the "fastest" that they use that and only that as the backbone for their sound instead of thinking outside of the box and creating something diverse and actually interesting. No one can sit there and listen to a hurricane of notes for an hour. It would turn ur brain to mush along with the lyrics that sounded a like retarded chimp on meth could have written them

that makes more sense lol
i hope that didn't sound like me being a prick or anything. This is a good review, imo
|

You didn't sound in the least prick-ish! Most schools cut that off at around 3rd grade, I know. And thanks!
