I used to not understand or grasp the meaning of a lot of the lyrics on this album especially since I listened to it a lot when I was younger... now a lot of songs have really clicked. Lyrics on Memories Fade, Watch Me Bleed, Change, and Start of the Breakdown are especially poignant, for all the angst the lyrics are really well written and have a lot of emotion

Meaning Edit
It's not really about much. It's just one of those cheap pop lyrics.

"Something on your mind
Became a point of view
I lost your honesty
You lost the life in you"
Those aren't cheap pop lyrics, lol. Just sounds like typical "British deflection" on Rol's part in that interview
He also said the entirety of his solo album meant nothing but the dude just can't help being profound

I'm glad I discovered this album. Right now I have a british new wave & synthpop phase again. I love the years 1984, 1983 and the early 80's.
Tears For Fears, Ultravox, Nik Kershaw, Howard Jones, Thompson Twins, The Stranglers (1984), Alphaville, Bronski Beat, John Foxx, Eurythmics, Fiction Factory, Real Life, Human League...All great stuff.
I'll always love this kind of pop music. First listened to it in the year 2000, and months later the 80's retro trend started, I won't forget that!

pretty good record but their first two get a pretty disproportionate amount of attention compared to the next 3 (& Roland's solo record, which is GOOD)

The Seeds of Love is underrated, lot of their best tracks on their. If it doesn’t exist yet I’d love to see some figure skating or ballet routine to Famous Last Words cos that’d be beautiful

There's something in the amazing and up-beat rhythm/instrumentation of Mad World that makes me love it way more than Gary Jules' cover
