like depressing how so? general mood, or that it doesn't somehow live up to your expectations?

It just seems so weak compared to his first two records. The whole 'here ye' motif in I Still Believe is corny and tuneless, like he's run out of ideas.

i didnt like that bit at first but it's really warmed up to me. i think seeing it live is what converted me. i love the two slower tracks on this too. while i dont think anything he's done or will ever do (even though i hate to prognosticate) will be as good as Love Ire and Song, i still greatly enjoy almost everything he has to offer. i will admit that at times he can loose the truly personal charm that made his old stuff so great, but for the most part he still has enough of it to make me still love him.

This is such an incredible ep. I've been spreading it to friends that traditionally only listen to mainstream stuff and they love it too. good review btw

Photosynthesis in Preston the other week was sick. He got all the support acts up to play it, and even then they were almost drowned out by the crowd. Awesome.

Sort of run of the mill I thought.
He has no unique sound, his lyricism is rather dull and I dunno. I found the whole thing 'washy'. =/

His lyrics on previous records are a lot better
