More people enjoy deathcore than anyone will admit. The fact of the matter is, sputnik is almost 90% purists and they all say they hate deathcore. However, there are more purists than anyone can think that are closet fans. Lol
come on guys. What is this post even saying?

Album is so utterly fucking boring. I listened through half of it and switched over to Enslaved's new album just to be pleased for a bit then went back at it. The vocals are shit, the chugwork is shit and predictable. The entire album just has me saying "Haven't I heard this before?"

Let's see here.
I happen to be a big fan of Oceano. I saw them just after the release of Depths, an I've been hooked ever since.
I didn't get hooked because of new ideas, techniques, or anything else they brought to the table. (Though I love deathcore, I must say finding unique bands of the genre is like finding a specific needle in a needle stack) I have been a fan of them because their music is unbelievably heavy.
Heaviness being the reason why most people who like them, well like them, I'd say Oceano didn't disappoint with Contagion. I would consider it Depths 2.5 because they stepped it up as far as sheer brutality goes.
And for the people who say Oceano will continue to be bland and generic, don't call the future. You may find yourself to be mistaken.

Yea the day this band comes out with a epic progressive technical and melodic deathcore album is the day they will lose all their old fans and get new ones lol. Why would they lose their old fans? Well all the brown note breakdowns will be gone and the bros hate creativity.
|
| |
i disagree with the depths 2.0 thing. this album doesn't have as much breakdowns and is more technical to be labelled as such but it's still oceano. this album just bores me and i actually preferred depths because that album was more intense and kept you on your toes at all times.

Oh.

There isn't one song on the album where you'd like to go back and say ''hey, i wanna go listen to that again'' where as on depths you had district of misery, a mandatory sacrifice, and samael the destroyer.
|
| |
The vocalist blows but so does the rest of the band.

Sort of liked depths but this album ugh and they put on a terrible live show imo all sounds the same and i couldnt tell if they are playing a new song or the same one

Deathcore is bad. Its a terrible genre. They act like they own Breakdowns, and were the first genre to bring it into metal or even death metal. Its a horrible mix of genres, and just doesnt make sense.
witchxrapist or whatever is just a whiney deathcore fag who doesnt know what an opinion is.
