Midian is awesome, i'm not sure if Crysis will like it, but it's worth a shot. I honestly think he'd have more luck with Cruelty and the Beast.

Well yeah then you wouldn't think much of Cruelty either. Although you could try and give the song Bathory Aria a listen because it's fucking amazing.

Dusk and Her Embrace is far more similar to Midian than Cruelty is. Cruelty always seemed to me their most sincere effort, in that it tones down the unnecessary stuff and gets to the point.

I always too Midian as the one that was more instrumentally driven while still being somewhat symphonic. Songs like Chthulhu Dawn and Amor E Morte are an example of that.

The reviews here usually offer some kind of quality, but as soon as it comes to CoF all obejctivity seems to be forgotten. Godspped got a poor rating, Darkly gets a poor rating, it's just too obvious in my opinion. Sorry.

I agree with you that a lot of people give them bad ratings just because it's cool, but Crysis is one of the best reviewers on this site.

This band isn't about riffs, and it's not about melody. One may not like it, that's ok, but to me there is no reason why someone hating that band so much would write the review.

I don't hate the band and I don't hate their symphonics. There are many times on other albums when they work really well, it's just that on this album they are used as a crutch, which is unfortunate because they don't fit well with the rest of the instruments.
