"Gothenburg/Gothenburg rip off bands are everywhere these days, its not very hard to find someone that sounds exactly like In Flames.
If you can name a band that Arsis sound exactly like, i will give you a cookie." - Arucard
All Shall Perish's forthcoming album and The Damascus Intervention's new EP are very reminiscent of A Celebration of Guilt. No, they don't sound exactly like Arsis obviously, as they both incorporate metalcore influences, but they sound as similar as all the Gothenburg clones sound to old In Flames. Can I have a cookie anyways?
I'd have to say whats his name is right when he says A Celebration sounded very derived and the songs were not easily distinguishable from one another, especially if you only spun the album a couple times. It doesn't matter to me though, derived or not it was still higher quality than most of the melodeath coming out these days.
I was completely blown away by this release when it came out. Arsis was already one of my favorite bands with A Celebration of Guilt but this puts them right on top for me. Everyone needs to buy this.
Great review ShadowsFallen by the way. This Message Edited On 07.19.06

I decided to scrap the sidequotes. Too many random variables affect them. I doubt they'll be missed. :p

umm, i found UiR abit too technical for my liking, i heard this album is more melodic. can anyone send this to me pleaseeeeee...
|

I'll send you UiR, if you send me Diamond for Disease :P

dear god, I just saw these guys last night. The only thing that sucked was the fact that it was in rapid city, south dakota, and the death metal scene isnt huge here, so not a lot a people came to watch them... too bad for them. These guys have great musicianship.. i fuckin loved the show, plus their bass player looks like a fuckin executioner of something.

They rarely play any large shows, but rock so hard at all of them. That's why they're even more awesome than normal.

The title track is still the band's best song by far.

A Diamond for Disease is probably one of my favourite songs coming from Arsis..but again, i find the drumming a tad bit boring.

I'm listening to the title track right now, and I'm sh*tting my pants. It's Godly....

Havent heard this yet, but I have A Celebration of Guilt and love it.

this shit is amazing....technicality and melody come together in this album to produce some of the best sounding metal i have ever heard. even though this album is only 3 songs long, the band makes up for the length with some of the best metal available today.
