i don't know, i'm not as against the mainstream shift as other fans, but the new stuff just seems to wear off a lot faster than the old stuff which never gets old. then again, saying that, i'm absolutely loving good news right now too. and i wouldn't have enjoyed them carrying on the older sound for too long anyway.

basically, best band ever

if it weren't for the mainstream shift, we would have never gotten 'dashboard' and i wouldn't have had a song to single handedly convert all my high school friends into modest mouse fans

this is the best modest mouse though

This album has the best songs and production, the flow is impeccable.

...well, I guess I couldn't put it better.

god damn it I finally scroll back

but I love them all. Good News in particular has been pleasing me lately, I don't know why Modest Mouse fans were so against the mainstream shift.

I never saw the issue as well. Granted, their earlier albums are better, there's just something about the haphazardness of it all, and Brock's absolutely insane delivery, that give them more of an 'umph' factor. But 'Good News' and 'We Were Dead' are both strong fucking albums that by all means have no place on the Pop Charts. "Float On" hitting #1, I still remember that as a serious 'wtf?' moment.

but they made it, and they sold some serious albums for an indie rock group, which I think just attests to the quality of the music even more so. But, no one likes it when some jerkoff is singing their favorite bands most popular song, so I suppose I see where they're coming from.

I agree, but I'm speaking comparatively to most other Billboard #1 hits, it's pretty unconventional.

So, yay for them, go indie rock, suck it musical establishment.

This review is pretty all over the place, and has a lot of repeating the same statements.

was out walking and thinking about dumb life issues while listening to this.

When What People Are Made came to an end, I realized that this is one of the best things ever

well, albums that make everything in life look better than it actually is usually end up becoming classics for me, so this has earned its spot.

Will look more into their others
