So far I've only heard the 8th track off this album, sounded pretty decent and I will probably listen to the entire album when I've got time.
Well written review

I think that just about any metal fan should give this album a listen, it's hard to say if you will like it since there is a lot going on here both musically and stylistically.
that said, their older stuff is better imo.

Good album by my countrymen.

I agree with the consensus, 3.5 seems the perfect rating for this great but uneven album.

Ghouls Of Nineveh has a fantastic guitar riff but the rest of the songs aren't so good. A safe buy only for the die hard fans of the Mesopotamian's BM Melechesh.

This album has its faults but it has grew on me.
Ghouls of Nineveh rules damn hard. The Magickan and the Drones and Mystics of the Pillar are also killer songs.

This is more bland then their earlier staff. The middle eastern influences rest more in intors and are less interwoven into the songs themselves, compared to their earlier stuff (particularly sphynx). i never dug their constantly fast songs, as I think that variety and nuances are their strengths. Something that's less present here. The drumming can't compare in punch, playfulness and details to earlier stuff and the cpomparatively flat and artificial sound of this doesn't help... their weakest effort by far in my opinion, but admittedly I didn't give it a lot of time to grow on me due to my disappointment...
