Cheers fella. Really getting into that Go Between albums recently.

Townes Van Zandt is a great lyricist too
Agreed. Dylan, Cohen and Anderson (in no particular order) will always be my top 3 though.

ah, yet one of the great big ones I have neglected

You've gotta change that.
Even though he fronts a "prog rock/folk" band I still tend to group him in with the famous folk singer/songwriters.

don't have I'm Your Man - nothing past New Skin sadly. but that's a great one too. Songs From A Room, even trying to ignore the awesome albums it came between, doesn't do as much for me. the arrangements are so much stronger elsewhere

yes songs from a room has a couple greats (Bird on a Wire, Seems so Long Ago, Nancy) but other than that there's nothing like what came just before and after.
|
| |
I think Songs From a Room is pretty underrated. Not as good as the two albums either side of it obviously but still really good.
This and his debut are really close, I think one of the reasons I marginally prefer this is due to the fact that it was the first Cohen album I heard.
