Def gonna have to jam the 2 after this.

The last track is a rad way to close an album. Synth epic!

Cool album. Bands early work seems real slept on for the most part

prob their best gotta revisit

This and the follow up are close for me but I think I agree

Production wise this deserved better. Great debut by a great band.

Bump! About to throw this one on for a little refresher!

Don't miss out on Esoptron and Ophidian Wheel either if you never jam them! Esoptron especially for me is their finest hour to this day. Pre-Communion SF is so fun

Shame that this band has been shit for the past 2 and a half de ades. Their early stuff is so damn good.
|

is this different from their late era stuff?
communion and great mass were so bad

The run from the early 1991 EP Temple of the Last Race to 2003's Sumerian Daemons is a great journey. Sumerian Daemons started the new wall of sound style, but still carried the heritage of past evolutions. They kinda rebooted with Communion, you could say (they had split after Sumerian Daemons, and when they returned they switched from being Septic Flesh to Septicflesh).
They used to be a little unpredictable in a certain sense, like every album had a different shade and for example 1999's Revolution DNA is straight-up goth metal with clean choruses and a few industrial songs. A lot of fun to explore imo.
Personally I adore Esoptron's magical atmosphere, but classic SF has a place in my metal heart in general really

mystic places of dawn is bett…wait!

We're not used to bumping old SF around these parts

crescent moon is such a killer tune. this band nailed that true occult sound on the first three albums better than almost anyone. sucks it’s a drum machine but it’s not that distracting cause the production overall is pretty raw.
