oh come on, im not usually one to claim this but im getting strong deliberately contrarian vibes here

i think, at best, you were disappointed/thought it was only "ok" but the annoyance at the "overhyping" is leading you to this

"fucking horrible" opinion

how was it "fucking horrible"--the most legitimate qualm ive seen with it is that it's a little too episodic, which in itself almost

seems like a reach to find something bad about the movie and a trait that would be excused in any less-hyped movie

unless youre one of those veterans who thinks it doesnt portray the war in an accurate manner in which case idc really lol

i can understand not being blown away by it but "fucking horrible"? please

"fifthly i believe the majority of people who like the movie are just being patriotic."

few typos in this, i think you meant to say "i completely missed the point of the whole movie" (before the backlash: i realize

saying the -WHOLE POINT- is being a little facetious but yeah)

thirdly they picked the most boring and unnecessary war to make a film about

full metal jacket is the only war movie that has ever really done that much for me.

hurt locker was alright it just turned me off how it was basically just one action set piece after another. i dunno i mean i like action movies like that but for one of the more lauded Best Picture winners i guess i went into it expecting a bit more than that.

also watched it a second time and couldnt finish it i got so bored. without the initial tension it's nothing

honestly i have a problem with you comparing wars based on how 'exciting' they seemed from behind your computer. but then, this isn't a really important conversation.

'behind your computer' is just context. the operative phrase was 'how exciting they seemed'
