hahaha I read that too, definitely weird, but funny

after the way Lebron performed on and off the court in this series does he give anyone the impression that he's ever gonna win a title?
of course signing him will be good for business but as a fan i wouldn't think that signing him=title

the Celtics are looking scary as hell and without Bynum, the Lakers will have a VERY tough time
|
| |
Rondo is just killing people. I haven't seen someone play the point this well in the playoffs in a long ass time.
|
| |
Yeah he has those extra intangibles that separate good and great point guards. Above all else, he has huge desire/hustle.
|
| |
Lakers in 6, 7 if the networks/Stern conspire for more ad revenue and call a game in favor of one team or another to push the series.
|
| |
you mean like they did for the Magic in game 5 last series?
|
| |
You're not as convinced about the league being rigged as I am ;)
|
| |
I don't know that it's rigged, but the officials were god awful last series. If it was rigged the Spurs wouldn't have had a dynasty for the last decade, and the Pistons wouldn't have beaten the Lakers so handily in 2004.
there have been a higher number of suspicious calls in the NBA than any other major American sport to my knowledge though
also, if the NBA was going to fix games, they probably wouldn't have let LeBron get swept out of the Finals by San Antonio a few years ago
|
| |
and there's no question stars get all the calls. I like how Lebron's credited with being this great defender (because he blocks someone's shot from behind a few times a week) but averages about 1 foul per game (which is easily the lowest in history, waaaaaay lower than MJ in his least foul-happy season). It makes no sense.
|
| |
Easily.
|
| |
agreed. also, the officiating was horrible last night (going back to the point about the league wanting to extend series). Not so much that the Celtics got more calls, but that the ones called on the Lakers in the 4th quarter seemed superfluous. That Artest foul on Rondo was a phantom, and when they called that ball of Gasol when the Lakers were down 4 (it was obviously off KG, even the announcers were miffed) it swung the momentum in the Celtics favor and effectively ended the game.
|
| |
Actually Boston had 39 fouls to LAs 22. Although the 5 on Kobe was big, it pretty much rendered him useless defensively. What a game for Allen and Rondo. Also, Artest was atrocious, something I always love to see.
|
| |
i already told you all what was going to happen go back a few pages
|
| |
yeah, Artest was baaaaaad. But it limited Kobe on offense too, notice how he shot nothing but jumpers after call #4 because he was afraid to get called for another charge (one thing Wallace, Davis and Garnett do very well).
and yeah, I know LA shot 15 more free throws, but the calls at the end of the game all went Boston's way. Especially the one where they called it out of bounds on Gasol (after looking at the replay!!!) when it was OBVIOUSLY out on Garnett. I saw it, my fiancee saw it, the announcers were baffled, it just didn't make sense.

Tesh should've put Albert in panties on the cover of the album
|
| |
Inveigh- They make those calls because they are paid by the mob to make those calls
|
| |
can you imagine what Marv Albert was like that night? wearing panties, biting that woman and probably yelling 'Y-yes!!!" ever minute or so.
|
| |
I want Roundball Rock playing when I get busy with my girl
|
| |
I don't think Garnett has a fork sticking out of his back anymore, I think its more like a chainsaw. Hard to imagine the Celtics winning on the road like that while getting nothing from Garnett or Pierce.
