^what he said. Écailles de lune parts 1 and 2 are easily Alcest's best, and the rest of the album let those songs down.

I wouldn't say that at all, but yeah those are definitely the best.

But Alcest dwell in their own reality, oblivion to any current trends
I don't know if this reviewer still uses the site, but I believe you mean "oblivious".
I happened upon "Song For Mountains" tonight. I like it.

Yup, I personally think that this is miles ahead of Ecailles De Lune (though it seems that I'm in the minority there).

This owns Ecailles De Lune in every way possible basically.

Lantlos' .neon is the best out of the post-bm/shoegazy stuff from last year.
And is Teyssier's best artwork imo.

I haven't heard Lantlos yet but I definitely prefer this album's artwork. The CD also comes with a booklet filled with more of his drawings (all pretty great stuff), most of them can be seen here:

Album is a second or third(depends) rate clone to Ecailles.

Blah blah blah clones clones clones that is all you ever say when in reality these guys have a style that's pretty distinct and separate from Alcest. Not even mentioning the fact that these guys are a much more successful combination of metal and shoegaze.

That's even more false. This album isn't really all that catchy, have any real standout sections nor boasts a track as epic as Ecailles Pt 1. Vocals are one dimensional on this as well. Still for what it is it's alright.
