i think the origin of trap music (production wise) started with memphis. the triplet high hats and even the triplet rhyme bars. three 6 mafia was probably making it famous but the underground acts were similar.
everybody in atlanta calls the hood the trap, texas calls it the cut, etc

I really dislike trap, it's probably my least favorite genre, and my buddy recommended this to me, to reconcile me with the genre, saying that plenty thought that this was the best album of that genre. And while I can give it some merit, the production is quite impressive on certain songs, it's awful in other parts, with disgusting lyrics and flow.
