Also I don't think comparing this to Sgt. Peppers or pet sounds is a stretch at all. Sure reception-wise it will never compare but the basic inspiration for this album, big-fleshed out pop tunes with psychedelic influence and enough variety to make a composer proud, is very similar to the type of inspiration that created sgt. peppers and pet sounds. This album really is that good.

XTC like some post punk bands seem to be really under appreciated here, almost all albums from them have some massive jams, and overall English Settlement, Drums & Wires, Black Sea and Orange & Lemons are excellent albums.
