My only complaint is it gets a little tiresome after a while due to the constant barrage of riffs. I love riffs but the variety is slightly lacking.

It's a solid package yeah. Can't blame an album for too much riffs tho

Dave's riffs never get tiresome. How can a constant barrage of (sick) riffs ever be a negative thing?

I retract my earlier statement. Band rules.

Just this and Deathless. I’m planning on exploring their discog more thoroughly, I just wanted to revisit those ones before continuing.

If you like over-the-top melodeath/thrash chockfull of cool riffs, you're in for a real treat.

Wait, "over-the-top melodeath"? Idk about that haha what do you mean by that?
Dave definitely has a super melodic approach to his leads/solos, but I think tech death/thrash is accurate for Revo. Not trying to be a genre nazi or some shit, it's just when I think of "over the top melodeath" these guys are definitely not a band I'd associate with that lol. But I might just be misunderstanding your comment.

Admittedly Pika's reply had me confused initially, I read it and was thinking 'but I don't really like that sort of thing' and started questioning my own existence for a while, wondering whether I had these guys tagged wrong somehow. Like you say, I see them more as a tech death/thrash sort of deal, of course that doesn't mean they aren't at all melodic, that side of their music just manifests itself in a different way to what I'd describe as actual melodeath.

Well, I'm no genre expert, but I wouldn't call these guys just death metal. To me, that's stuff like Immolation or Cannibal Corpse.
Sorry for the confusion.

That's because they're not just DM, hence the 'tech death/thrash' label. I'm no expert either, but hexfix's tag does sound more accurate to me.

Na you're good Pika haha. I def wouldn't associate them with those bands either.
They're usually tagged as tech death/thrash and I think that fits their music quite nicely, especially since a lot of tech death tends to have strong melodic or prog elements. I think some add the prog tag too but I usually just say tech death in general, sometimes I feel like saying "technical progressive death/thrash metal" can be a bit excessive lol
Also like I said, wasn't trying to be a genre nazi or some shit if it came off that way.

I could listen to the guitar playing in Dismantle the Dictator forever. What a damn great song.

They've released the tab book for this: https://www.sheethappenspublishing.com/artists/revocation
I'll be checking out some of those riffs I couldn't figure out and continue breaking my fingers.
