So far my least favorite DH album (besides their debut)
What?????????????? You say their heaviest alum is there worst?
Just breath, collapsing, tie this around your neck, and perhaps their greatest ballad ever, Driving nails, all comepletely ROCK. This isnt my favorite of theirs, but its not the worst.

Overall I actually liked this album. It might not be even close to their best, but it is quite enjoyable. I don't get what all the hate is about.

Me neither, none of their albums have ever been dissapointments to me.

demon hunter aren't bad, they're just really good at being completely and utterly average.

Average? How so?

Demon Hunter has a really good knack at blending screaming with suburb clean vocals. They're not just another metalcore/alternative metal band that follows an old formula that's been beaten to death. They continue to offer a fresh sound that I just can't get enough of.
I don't know what about the band warrants them being called average. Though I will admit that this is their worst album other than Storm......but for me at least, even bad DH is still good. Though this album isn't at all bad, I just wouldn't quite call it perfection or near perfection like most of their older stuff was.

There's definitely some good stuff out there.

There's always good stuff out there, no matter what genre.

Ive never loved metal, but the fact that demon huter has awesome parts with ryan growling in the verses, and then the beautiful choruses are great. Also, Demon Hunter has really delivered with the lyrics this time around.

I just can't get this to stick . . It doesn't do it for me :/

I dont understand how you could think its a bad album. Think about it this way, Demon hunter is always criticized for not being heavy enough. There older albums(especially sod) were good, and had plenty of screaming, but it didnt feel very metalish. The guitars werent very chug-chug-chug and the drums werent quite right either. They have really stepped up their game with this release in heaviness and sounding more like a metal band. I think they have simply matured with this album.

"i'm still shocked at how bad this album is. how is the single the best song?"
What makes it so bad? It might not be amazing to some people, but it must be agony to your ears if you give it a 1.5. What about the music gives it almost the lowest possible score? I don't think this album is even close to Demon Hunter's best, but I do find it fairly enjoyable.

No it is not their best, but come on, ITS ANOTHER AWSOME DEMON HUNTER ALBUM!

I actually like this album quite a bit more than 'Storm The Gates of Hell' on the whole. The single isn't bad (it gets stuck in my head way more often than I thought, and I like it better than "Fading Away"), and the three middle songs, "The World Is A Thorn," "Tie This Around Your Neck," and "Just Breathe" are definitely among the best in Demon Hunter's catalogue (especially lately).

I thought half the songs on storm the gates were quite boring. Incision, thread of light, or follow the wolves.

I believe this is a good christian metal band, one of the few that i like from them, good for a few listens but kind of loses appeal after a bit.
