Ughhh...I'm definitely writing a review for this. I don't think this review does the album justice and all the Mastodon/post-metal comparisons make me sick. Mastodon exists because of HoF and they have never surpassed anything the band has done IMO.

No actually, I wouldn't write a review for this album if this didn't bug me so much as I read it. I did read the entire thing btw. I was just saying the main thing that bothered me. I'm not trying to be a giant asshole about it but I guess it comes off that way. I just don't think the review gives the album or the band justice.

This was honestly my first foray into their discography and about three or four times I just wanted to stop because I really didn't think I'd be able to pull it off. I guess my writing was fine, but I'll agree that the content may have been wrong.

Thanks but no offense but I've been listening to these guys since 2004. It just presses some button when I see people saying Mastodon and High on Fire are contemporaries when HoF is basically their father. I mean Mastodon basically exists because of HoF, the guys all met at a HoF show. And I just see no post-metal at all here because HoF is actually pretty traditional metal and doesn't really focus on drawn out atmospheric stuff, it's pretty much kick you in the teeth metal, especially on this one. But yeah, the writing is good, just some of the content bugs me.
