"5/5" No Strikey, this staff thing means I have to try & keep my fanboyism in check nowadays damn it.
Why am I feeling extra pressure on this review? It's frustrating.

Not gonna lie I can't wait. I fully expect not to agree with you though we tend to disagree on loads of things. I mostly just want you to post it so you listen to MCS and then we can all have a party over there :P

LOL Dougie... Maybe if I let it grow on me for a month or 6. I had that luxury with Emery's latest. I admit that if I wrote the Emery review upon release, it would have been a 4.5. But this isn't as good as '...In Shallow Seas We Sail'.
Yes Strikey, we will agree on some points & disagree on others (EG: New single). But the last thing I want to do is turn the review into a defense of 'Liberation Transmission'... If only because I don't want you to vomit.

Haha. I had a look back and was surprised that despite your soundoffs being there you hadn't reviewed these guys' back catalogue. I wouldn't want the review to be a defence of Lib Trans either, but I feel if I were reviewing this I'd approach it from much the same way as I had to MCS' new one. In fact, now I say that, the 2 bands' progressions have a fair bit in common. Hmm.

Unsure why I didn't review them when I was going review-crazy either. And the sound-offs I only did a couple of weeks back in the lead-up to this.
Yeah, I think most would agree with you on the career progression thing. But I think it's safe to say that that is not the way I will be approaching the review... Although I will be addressing 'LT' to some extent. Difficult not to.

Aaand this is why different reviewers exist :D. I look forward to reading it.

I'm not too impressed with this. No offense Davey, but I'm not a fan of this guy's voice. "Last Train Home" was a pretty killer track though from what I remember.

WE STILLLLL KILLL THE OLD WAY
What a song.

Pretty good. Better than LT for sure but a little below SS.

Yeah I'm not digging this so much

After the first spin I think it's a solid 4/5 from me; I'm more impressed than I anticipated I'd be. The closer is fantastic. I look forward to reading Davey's review.

I want to love this album so much, but a few things are keeping me from it. The singles were terrible and defiantly no where near Last Train Home. In fact, I enjoyed Rooftops better than the singles off this album. The last half wasn't that bad for me, but i HATE Streets of Nowhere. But I also really like songs like dstryr, atro city, a better nothing, and the last track. The problem with this album is that it is VERY inconsistent. On another note, WHY THE HELL did they not include the track "The Dead". That was such a solid tune and much better than any song on this album. In fact, for me it was one of my favorite lp songs to date. Same goes for Weapon, which was probably their most original song since Start Something on SS
