"...just means they're old bastards that are unmarried. Thus they have grey hair..." Ahhh, I should have got the grey connotation. A bit slow, ol' Davey is.
"Not as poppy as the review states." Huh? At what stage did I say it was a poppy album? I even state "Power-Pop, this is not", while going on to detail a few of the quirkier tracks towards the end.

the video for 'this too shall pass' is cool

Oooh, I must get on to that as I have yet to see it. Treadmills, bright colors or other? Does confirm it's the 2nd single though.
Congrats on the promotion Kirgasm. Well-deserved.

thanks davey!
the video is another one-take wonder, like the treadmills, except with marching bands and ghillie suits

Thought it may have been.
You know, if this album was really bad, I had a summary that I was going to use:
Future Headline: "OK Go become 1st band to make silent music video".

Yo, CK! Going to see this lot in March?

I noticed yesterday they were touring. Leaning towards "no", but you never know... Support may be good & could be cheap. Plus, I just purchased my Lostprophets tickets, so the bank balance just took a hit.

Playing the Hi-Fi down your way, which I hear is a decent venue?
Hoping to visit your fair city this year CK, you'll have to show me around.

Yeah, I like both Hi-Fi & Billboard as the smaller venues that you can get up close, yet have good acoustics.
I doubt we'd let you in DavID. Can't have NSW riff-raff wandering around.

So I just got this and it's really, really great. I'm also interviewing Tim (bass) tomorrow morning.

Wow, I thought you might like this DavID, but not a 4.
Good luck on the interview. If he's the guy that sings in some of the earlier clips, ask him if people usually come up to him & think he is the lead singer.

That's him. Not a bad question, too, haha.

And also the obvious questions about their video clips & the importance they place on them, etc, etc...

Awesome music video for This Too Shall Pass. I loved that song, but the video is even better. OK Go is the only band that still makes creative videos these days.

Wonder why they did 2 versions of the video. I saw the marching band one on tv over the weekend.
Great write-up & interview DavID. I heard their live show was actually really good from an entertainment perspective.
I wouldn't say the only band ihopeuchoke, but they're right up there. I still wonder if they would be as big as they are had it not been for their videos.

Good album.....
Really enjoyed the new direction these guys took

Yeah, as more people are hearing this, the mixed reviews keep coming. One gets the feeling that even though this album did not quite hit the mark (they probably went away from their past sound a little too much), that the band could be better for the experimentation in the future.
