Collide is the best here.
Overall a pretty solid album from a really mediocre band

I feel like Alien Youth doesn’t get enough credit, there are some major jams on that one. I.e. Eating Me Away. Probably my favorite Skillet track

Yeah, Alien Youth is pretty damn good too. I still feel like this is the band's peak though, with Comatose at a close second

Collide and savior are great. Been years though.

Never actually listened to Red back then, which is surprising considering how much Christian alt metal I did listen to. Lots of Phenomenon-era Thousand Foot Krutch, Kutless, P.O.D., Skillet, Pillar... all that stuff that aged like milk and yet still kinda slaps
|
| |
Pillar has a few good ones, Thousand Foot Krutch is just embarrassing

I've always had a soft spot for Phenomenon, but I really don't enjoy any other stuff by them
|

But do you move to this phenomenon 🧐

Title track slaps the shit out of anything they released afterwards.

For sure. To me this is still among the best alt/nu-metal albums of its time. Surprisingly great songwriting here

Indeed. Cooper’s vocals were a good fit for this style of music, and I wish they continued in this direction

Admittedly I'm pretty biased since I was raised a Catholic and this was one of my favorite alt-metal albums because of my religious preferences (I'm agnostic now). But I think I've been at the point now for quite a while where I can enjoy certain Christian rock/metal from a secular point of view because of the musical quality or relatable themes. For instance: DC Talk, this era of Skillet, Tourniquet, Antestor, early King's X, Mortification, Ike Ndolo, etc.

Seriously, no matter the religion, DC Talk's music is actually amazing. Incredible mix of rock, hip hop, gospel, soul, and a bunch of other stufff
