Mesa Verde really captivate me when I listen to them, but with this I sort of find myself phasing out of it sometimes, as in I stop paying attention. I still really like it though, don't get me wrong.

I think what finally made me 5 this was the crescendo at the end of Pensive when he keeps screaming "I'm ready." That part is so good.

By the way, I second that emotion. I felt that throughout the album, they continuously missed opportunities in the actual composition. They have a tendency to carry things on, missing ques that, if acted upon, could make a song that much better.

All in all, still a good band, just not a spectacular one.

oh wow i got one of this bands EPs for free (Saltwater I think) when I bought some CD online. haven't listened to it yet

Saltwater is pretty bad compared to this, the production is really rough, which I usually don't mind toooo much but in this case it makes the band sound really flat. This is much more dynamic, and this band owns.

This is awesome, but it drags on to much. Filial is seriously amazing though.
