I'm the same, as a teen I didn't give a fuck but I was self absorbed in my own 'issues' 20s came and went and it was a right laugh. 30s are bullshit central. You become part of the bullshit and by Christ it rankles.

"All the tracks from Bleach sound so much better live than on the record i.e. the instrumental section of "Negative Creep"."
Agree hard, and this coming from a guy who fucking loves Bleach.
"I'm 36 (actually old enough to be Dans dad :D)"
Ahahahah.

The 20s have been a laugh so far. You're on your own but you're struggling for cash flow while the older ones still have you under their thumb in a new variety of ways.

Age 21-27 was immense, real freedom and a proper formative five year insane relationship in there. The last three years have been just as good in a different way for me though, found my perfect woman and all that

As my teen years are closing in I can safely say last year was a fucking blast for me, while this one has been a disillusion of all sorts so far. Things seem to be finally setting off for me, but I still need massive doses of this to let out the rage :D

Great thing about your early to mid twenties is you have a bit of extra cash in your pocket but there aren't the commitments to take it away
Top time of life

Funnily enough '97 was possibly the greatest year in terms of freedom. Lads holidays, driving, woman, pubs and great tunes! Now its mortgage, Ford Focus, Cafe Nero and 'The Voice'. No wonder I'm miserable as arseholes!

Wouldn't wish that on anyone : )

Most freedom for me was '01, aged 22 - I'd bought a cheap studio apartment but the mortgage was nothing back then. Interest only, the sort of deal they won't sell anyone now. I was working as a road condition surveyor, boring work but paid well and I worked out a way I could do the work in half the hours. None of my mates had moved out of the area yet, playing football every weekend, going to loads of gigs and festivals. Legendary.

real fun is spending most nights by yourself on a couch watching the congealed expectations of life drift slowly across the room towards the window and eventually back towards the star dust from whence they came.

Great music transcends. This is as relatable for me today as it was 20 years ago.
