A classic, like you mentioned they're so different from the rest of second wave black metal it's difficult to imagine them being in the same movement as Gorgoroth or Mayhem or something

Dont tell anyone interested into the genre, that this is a black metal album. Novice listeners might be turn off by all the famous stereotypes. Just tell them to give it a try, and they will be converted in the couple of minutes.

Like i did.

Finally gave it a few spins in a proper set and setting, went into the Norwegian woods with foggy mornings, starry nights with full moon, cold windy sunsets and such, and damn this is how it was meant to be. One of the most atmospheric metal records I've heard, difficult to grasp it's a debut.

Dreamflight since you've got Omnio and this 5'd you might enjoy Drawn - A New World? from Christer-Andre Cederberg.

And perhaps Strange New Dawn as well, a recent one from Botteri brothers.

I don't think I've heard Drawn yet, I will definitely check, thanks man.

I like SND but I feel the Botteri bros are just trying to capture what mande Omnio (and perhaps Journey through the End of the Night) great. The psychadelia and atmospheric aura are certainly there, nonetheless the songs are not so memorable and not sure if I enjoy the singer's voice.

The opposite with recent ITW..., the musicianship and vocals are great, but it's just very predictable at this point.

Share both opinions, SND is enjoyable but after all not that memorable, and ITW after resurrection is just a very different and a bit generic, if quite good, prog band.

One more obscure project from Christer-Andre is Stille Opprör (S.o2), not metal at all but it's top notch.

Dude that Drawn album...that's got to be the most 90's Inthewoodsish thing ever. And I mean it in the best possible way. It's like Omnio meets HotA with a bit of SiS. The singer (Christer-Andre himself?) even sounds like Transit sometimes.

Exactly! Drawn's only offering is as close to ITW we love as it gets, stellar thing. Glad you've enjoyed!
