Dirty Little Secret is actually kind of good. I like it.
And Satellite...AWS and Prop get jocked pretty good around here. Look at the reviews and comments for the latest albums. It's not Radiohead, Thrice, or Opeth caliber...but there's definitely some hyping and high expectations.

It's no new Converge hype, but they do get their credit, most I think deserved.
BTW, new Converge has been hyped so much and the ratings are so ridiculous that I am waiting for a stream so I can listen to it even if I hated No Heroes which is my only Converge.

no heroes is a great record, but nowhere near their best.
get jane doe and the new one.

If you like it here then listen to Exile In Oblivion, it will be an eargasm.

Saw this and Exile In Oblivion last night, ended up picking this one up because I couldn't remember if the Exile review was positive. Haven't spun it up yet, but will soon.

Album is really awesome but IDK if it deserves a 4.2 avg, there are definitely better albums out this year IMO

i've listened to this and their '07 album and neither have anything on propagandhi or wilhelm scream. might check their earlier albums though.

ya, I was into Strung Out back in my teenage punk years and I too am kicking myself for not picking this up sooner. Just got it last week. Excellent album, and I think better than Supporting Caste (as far as comparing the best punk albums I've heard in 2009)

I ... ugh. I WANT to like this, and it's good, but I just don't think it does anything special. I do love Nation of Thieves and Andy Warhol though.

^those are probably my two favorites, but I also like Heart Attack and Ghetto Heater.
I also know what you mean about the album not seeming special, but I think that's because they've been doing the technical metal meets punk for so long (along w/ Propagandhi) that it just doesn't seem as unique and awe-inspiring as it used to.

Well this is my first listen to these guys. I kinda picture them like Rise Against but not as addictive.

Hmm.. I can see the comparison to early Rise Against, but I think of these guys more along the lines of Propagandhi and NoFX. I've never really heard the Rise Against analogy though, interesting.

Is there other albums of theirs that are on par or better than this one? I think I might really enjoy their style but executed differently. Or maybe just some different songs idk.

these guys sounds nothing like nofx i dunno what yer talkin about
i'm hearing more of a mixture between propagandhi and a wilhelm scream than anything
