this might be a real gateway record for me. last year's roots record opened me to outkast, deltron, and the wu, but i've never really embraced the genre. I can see this being another album towards really getting into hip hop

same here. i got into hip hop through political shit like Immortal Technique and dead prez, got into other conscious rap, and then i got into wu-tang and i got into more hardcore stuff. my love for southern rap came after i got UGK - Underground Kingz.
