I saw these guys with Cannibal Corpse the other night, killer show by both bands. I picked this album up and I've been listening to it, and it pretty good, much better than most metalcore. I guess you just have to look at this as a metalcore album, it seemed like the review was focused on comparing it to the other album and looked at the style shift as a bad thing. Even if it was, you should judge it for what it is: a metalcore album, and in that respect, its very, very good.

this isnt that good. very bland. theres much better stuff out there.

I really enjoy He Was Dead When I Got There and Hospice Residence, the rest is pretty hit or miss.
I heard two songs off of "Fused Together..." and really liked them. I should've started there.

Yeah, Fused is great

I Think I actually have to disagree with you. This isn't bland metalcore. Fixation On Plastics shows that the band still has their Grind and Death influences, when on Antman, we see some Deathcore-ish sounds, with a great breakdown, and in Clients, we have what could easily could have been a re-recording off of Fused. On He was Dead... we get a jazzy sounding instrumental that borders on the line of Metal and Jazz and with Dragon Wagon and Hospice you get spazzy riffs and dissodant vocals, without much Metalcore to speak of. So, in closing, i think this album has way more than just generic metalcore, and Doesn't sound much like generic metalcore.

Nowhere near as impressive as Fused Together In Revolving Doors was.
But this album is insanely brutal. Definitely worth checking out, even if it doesn't eclipse their previous work.
Hopefully their next album will retain the good aspects present on this album and fuse them with what was displayed on Fused...

Saw them last night.
One of the best sets I have seen. They played a lot of songs from Fused and were tight as hell.
I met Guy at the end (he sold me a hoody ) and he shook my hand and everything. Was pretty cool.

I envy you dude.

I actually listened to this album again a few times and I think it's actually pretty good. Dragon Wagon and one of the other songs are painfully bad, but once I got past the vocals (which aren't all that bad once you get used to them), I found this to be a pretty solid release.

This is a really good cd in my opinion, although not as good as their recent release. Inspired me to get a cheap band jacket.

Fused >>>>>> Prey >>>>> Clients

He Was Dead When I Got Here is so great. So simple, yet so great.

The simple reason is that it fits right in with Unearth, As I Lay Dying and whatever other metalcore band is blasting through the speakers of angry teenagers this week.
Oh cmon, that's crazy talk... This album isn't as quirky or chaotic as Fused, but it's still got plenty of craziness and technicality, and much more that of most metalcore bands. (I've still got nothing but love for Unearth though)

Yeah. It's got some sick tracks. As a live band, they're one of the best I've seen.
