Hating on Emmure sure is trendy. Didn't realize being trendy was a good quality in a person or a website..

It's not. Haters will continue to hate and be oh so trendy, while Emmure enjoys life on the road, making money from people who appreciate groove when they hear it.

And what is this idea that releasing albums this frequently is a bad thing? I wish every band I liked to would release a new album every goddamn year.

Rushing an album is a problem; results in some undercooked material. i.e. Anberlin's New Surrender coming a year after Cities was bad foresight.

Caleb, you're the only person that hates new surrender.

And as far as Emmure hating being trendy, I guess wanting dynamics and variation in music is a bad thing? Their problem is that while they (and bands like them) can create a pummeling grove in a very catchy and simplistic manner, every song relies on the same already overused structure, making it come off as more of a gimmick. Just my opinion, brah.

If a band can release material that fast the music can't be that good or interesting

Although I could be wrong

Seriously, how many open low E palm muted riffs can you have? Or even want for that matter?

My best friends are scene kids. I've known about Emmure since well before it was trendy to hate them, and they are one of the worst bands I have ever heard. I appreciate groove when I hear it, but writing the same breakdown over three albums isn't the same as being good at "groove." Shouldn't you be off throwing some elbows in the pit or something?

What did I do? I was a little bit repetitive but other than that I feel like it is a good argument.

And on the lines of coming up with a good album quickly it is possible. DGD only took 6 months to come out with their new album and that is amazing.

I didn't like this review at all. It was entertaining and everything but it told me absolutely nothing that I already didn't know about Emmure. What EVERYONE already knows about Emmure actually. This review is supposed to be about the cd not the whole Deathcore genre in general. I love the idea you were going for but maybe you could have added something about the album at the end of it. I learned nothing from this review that I didn't know about Emmure from their first two cds. The review was more of a sum up of their entire discography than just this one album. I don't even think you meantioned if this album was better or worse than their first two.

This.

Actually, it told you everything you need to know about this album.

Down tuned riffs? check

Lots of chugging? check

Tons of breakdowns? check

Similar song structures? check

Overproduced, overlayered and terrible vocals? check

Absolutely no variation whatever? check

Well, dayum, maybe I missed something, but that describes the album pretty well. What did you want me to do, tell you about every little Jun-wee they played?

"Hey guys, just wanted you to know that the Jun-wee on track 5 at 1:45 was not as good as exactly the same jun-wees on tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and every other track at 1:15, 2:17.... ETC...."

See, right here

I learned nothing from this review that I didn't know about Emmure from their first two cds

You took away exactly what I wanted you take away from this review. This album is exactly the same as all their other albums and all the crappy metalcore albums out there. It's no different from their discography.
