This album includes possibly Ian Gillan's best all-around performance with Deep Purple. Fools is Gillan's magnum opus.

Child in Time is, always.

If you haven't heard Made in Japan yet I suggest making that a priority.

Of course you can never go wrong with Child in Time. Gillan is breathtaking in this song.

But in Fools...he sounds so angry, he makes me feel every line of what he's singing.

I know what you mean, nothing beats Child in Time for me but Fools is definitely one of his best performances.

@Viper

Let it settle a bit. This is the blueprint of what a hard rock concert should be.

This is on a par with Machine Head for me. Give it a few more listens Viper, it was definitely a grower for me.

You need to listen to Purple's discography from the beginning to fully appreciate their transformation from a psychedelic rock band, to hard rock pioneers, to legends, then their decline and now to a good old rock band that has a good time.
