I definitely agree X3ni92. I'll review their previous album some time in the next couple of weeks, but this is clearly better.

I can't wait to see them live & am hoping they will be down under in Australia. I heard that Sean was crazy live, but didn't realize Gavin was the same.

By the way, I presume you added this album to the database, so thanks for that.

Phew, good to hear. I am sure it is just a matter of time until someone enters the fray and dismisses this as "poppy tripe" or something like that. I'm glad it's not you.

And I can see how this may grow off some listeners, because I was blown away on first listen also. But hooks are hooks, they don't grow stale and disappear as such. That is especially the case with the 3 heavier songs on this album, which have surprisingly been the ones to grow on me the most of late. The closer, especially.

Yah I don't think I would call it 'growing off' as such, just two different locations/situations that I listened to it in and it was very different in its impact.

It's probably also got something to do with the fact that I'm comparing everything I listen to at the moment to Aim And Ignite. It's a bad time for me to be listening to any new music, haha.

Ahhh, that makes more sense Adam. I guess this album would indeed work in some situations/settings better than others. And fair enough that it is the wrong time for you with new albums. In a sense, I had to stop comparing this to Emery's album as well. While they may be both classified as post-hardcore, they're not all that similar. But yeah, I got the subtle recommendation from you. Haha!

X3ni92, I get the feeling Sean would rub me the wrong way (figuratively of course), but he's not the only one in the music industry that does such things. I guess when you just do vocals (am I right in saying he doesn't play an instrument live?) and are not always singing due to a 2nd vocalist existing, you have to fill the time somehow.

No problems on the album artwork. That's the quickest part in adding an album to the database.

The man needs to learn the rhythm guitar... Or better yet, grab a tambourine & shake it.

*** The above comment was in no way a reference to Metro Sattion and no comparison was implied in the use of the words "shake it".

The following is a link to a live gig, a Doncaster-based band playing The Plug in Sheffield. The song in question starts at 6:05. If you skip through it, make sure you listen to the interlude at 8:05 too:

Then listen to The Blackout's Save Our Selves, the 2nd track off this album and one of the singles at:

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Because in my opinion that's arguably the most blatant thing I've ever seen.

It should be noted in case it wasn't obvious that Area 15 (now called just Area, I believe) have no connection whatsoever to The Blackout and I'm told they didn't know they existed until they heard a song I'm told they wrote huge parts of being played by a band they'd never met.

Slightly more obvious, don't you think?
