Album is excellent, but not their best. Quite a couple of albums that surpass it, for example Powerslave and Piece of Mind.

Someone told me this was a concept album once, looking at the lyrics it could be possible... recurring themes too, the order could kind of fit a story, especially with the returning to the first acoustic riff near the end of the album. Just my two cents.
On another note, this album is awesome.

ON SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON, the songs tell the tale of a young prophet who predicts the destruction of his village, and is ignored when he tries to warn the others. Eventually, the man goes mad and commits suicide.
That's the concept in a nutshell, for the sake of explaining.

I always thought this album was kinda overrated but i just gave it a listen and loved every second of it. The title track, Infinite Dreams, and Moonchild are some of Maiden's best songs. Might be my favorite from them now.

Nah this ain't overrated. It was the 2nd maiden album i heard (NOTB being first) and was my favourite for a while.
I reckon Piece of Mind was fairly overrated, the first half being excellent but second somwhat lacking.

Indeed i hated the synth at first but now i love it!

I love it cos it just gives it that extra kick of cheese. and those initial distorted riffs, and bruce's scream at the end make the song.
