They definitely have some great riffs. This is actually my least favorite from this band (even though I haven't heard the self-titled), and I still have it as a 4 so that says something. Also, check out Arising Realm by Ragnarok and Nattens Madrigal by Ulver since you like this. Great riffs on those albums too. If you're new to black metal you might hate the production on Nattens Madrigal, but it's just something you'll have to get used to.

Alright I'll check thanks. I'm sure it'll be better than Mayhem's latest stuff in terms of production (read Ordo Ad Chao-though if find this album quite amusing).

I mean the production is bad, but it's perfect for this kind of music. It wouldn't work with clean production. Also, check out the first two Dissection albums if you haven't.

Yeah Dissection, I know them. I got SOTLB. Damn good album.

Yeah they're definitely one of the most well-known bands. But you gotta get The Somberlain too if you like Storm of the Light's Bane. It's almost as good.

Hawks, can I ask you somethin'? How do you keep up with all the comments posted among all the various metal bands? Is there a notification tool that can be turned on to notify when a new comment is added? Where do you go for that? Thanks in advance.

You could click on the metal tab on the top of page. Also, Hawks this is your least favorite from them? Mine would probably be their first I think this and Over Bjoergvin Graater Himmerick are their best so far. The s/t is good but way different from this

Yeah Spirit this is my least favorite, which isn't saying much because this is still fantastic. The debut is my favorite.

This is my favorite overall, but the debut has Taake's best track. The riffs in this are unreal.

Wow, this kind of clicked today. The band is still average overall at best.

How can you at least not like Over Bjoergvin Graater Himmerick? So good. This is more straightforward but still almost as excellent imo

Too straight forward for my liking. Gonna go listen to something grim.

I like their debut the best. All of their albums are solid though.

Think I heard most of these riffs on Nemesis Divina. Argue that one all you want, they did it way better.

Surprisingly i can actually see where you're coming with that, but i don't care, both records rule.

I'm not criticizing anyone for liking this btw. I just find this style of bm does nothing for me outside of a few albums that I hold dear.
