Johan sounds really gutteral and crazy on this one, especially, yeah.

idk if guttural is the word id use tbh
he seems far more trained and practiced on later albums (and the cleaner prod also helps that shine through), legit one of the best enunciating growlers ive ever heard, but the rawness here is its own kinda beauty... like he cant even stick to one style on that song

I find myself, often, revisiting their First-6 LPs and not really digging the rest, only one or two full listening session of each of their last 5 LPs. Am i missing something, like potential growers?
Sincerely and naively asking.

I personally got exhausted with everything from Twilight forward; but I went back like a year later and wound up liking all of it. Perhaps most shockingly, I grew to really love Jomsviking, though I expect that to remain an unpopular opinion.

I am revisiting all their albums from the most recent in counterclockwise style, and yes i feel something similar to you TheWr3tched. m//

Ooooh nice album 💖
I'm still in the 'first six and then I've lost interest'-camp, curious whether that will ever change.

Title track rules. Wish this band kept that energy for a bit longer before making their gradual fall into mediocrity later in their discography.

They first produced six wonderful albums though, that's something!

Yeah, I don't doubt that. It's just a real shame they can go from something like this and Versus the World to what Berserker was. I don't have too high hopes for their new one either.

No, that's true, have stopped hoping new AA would be good years ago.

Early AA in general is. They had a real good run from this up until Oden. Wish they kept it up, but it felt inevitable with releasing so many albums.

The solos here are soooo tasty!

Need to return to this one. Do recall the solos being pretty sick. Would love to see these guys return to their early sound

A revisit of this is always a good idea I think.
Those first six are all very much worth it. Melodic, sweeping, aggressive, and very very catchy.

Definitely agree on the first 6. I discovered them through Fate of Borns and still have a ton of nostalgia for that one. Glad I got to see them live before things started going downhill for me at least
