I hope you like this since you're pre-ordering it. I pre-ordered the 3-disc Dream Theater album that has the 6 cover songs and the disc of the entire album without vocals.

Listening to this album, it appears that Amorphis have fallen into a Swallow The Sun type of rut; they can still write well, but who gives a crap if they can't break out of what they do?

Elegy doesn't suck, but it got old really fast for me. It's like a low 3.5 for me.
Anyway I agree with the points made in the review, but this is still a 4 for me, at least for now. Sampo might be my favorite of their songs.

I just noticed that with all of the Amorphis fans on this site, Elegy still doesn't have a review somehow. I'm not doing it but someone should.
Hah I started a 4.5 review of it in like November but was too lazy to finish it. It'd be a much lower rating now anyway.

Besides "Against Widows" I started to find it somewhat bland. Still enjoyable, but just not as great as Silent Waters, or Eclipse even. I like it more than Tales From the Thousand Lakes though. That album was a yawnfest.
