The first 20 seconds or so of Thawing Innocence kinda reminds me of early In Flames.

All the Opeth hate in the review is kinda unnecessary. This album isn't bad, but it does sound like they are basically trying to be Opeth without even trying to inject anything new, so they lose points for originality.
